Language Department
Research indicates that the multilingual brain operates distinctively compared to monolingual counterparts, particularly in memory, decision-making, and creativity. This is among the myriad reasons driving our commitment to provide a variety of language courses across different proficiency levels. Currently available language courses include:

- Spanish 3 - Honors
- AP Spanish Language and Culture
- AP Spanish Language and Literature
Middle School 6th-8th
The middle school years mark a significant period of transformation for students. It serves as a crucial stepping stone during which children undergo physical, mental, and social growth alongside peers at a similar stage in life. Therefore, it is essential to provide support and guidance to help them develop essential habits that will prepare them for high school and future success. Our objective is to offer courses that not only provide vital educational support within the classroom but also involve parents in this journey of growth and development.
AP Courses
Our Advanced Placement (AP) courses empower students to engage in college-level studies during their high school years. These courses offer academically prepared students the chance to earn college credit and/or advanced placement through rigorous examinations.
High School 9th- 12th
We provide a diverse range of courses, both in-person and online, meticulously crafted to cater to the varied needs and interests of our students. Our offerings span from enrichment to credit classes, aimed not only at fulfilling graduation requirements but also equipping students with the essential skills and knowledge for their future endeavors. Our dedication lies in fostering a culture of lifelong learning, empowering students to become influential voices for positive change in their communities. High school students are encouraged to engage in extracurricular activities, including competitive speech, community service initiatives, mentorship programs, and academic clubs.
Enrichment Classes
Enrichment courses are designed to enhance learners' soft skills and boost their confidence. These classes cover a wide range of skills, from fostering creativity and effective communication to problem-solving and public speaking. They provide a unique opportunity for students of all abilities to come together and learn. VRA offers a diverse selection of enrichment classes tailored for both middle school and high school students.
Community Service
Each year, we encourage our students, alongside their families, to dedicate their efforts to a service project, embodying the love of God through action and community service. I firmly believe in the transformative power of service-learning for all involved. Service, inherently, entails taking action to enrich the lives of others. Our aim is for students to explore, understand, and appreciate diverse cultures and communities, discover new interests, and cultivate a sense of social responsibility. Engaging in meaningful activities outside of academic pursuits or daily routines often provides the mental rejuvenation we all require. Understanding how to serve others effectively may unlock opportunities that would otherwise remain inaccessible.
Valley Ridge Academy is in the process of becoming a certified organization for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
Graduation
Annually, in May, we convene to honor students who have fulfilled the academic and extracurricular criteria for graduation as stipulated by the state of Texas. This ceremony serves as a public platform where graduating students are presented with their diplomas, as well as any special awards or distinctions, signifying their official completion of high school.
